Terms of Service.

By creating an account or using SCHOLAREA ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms form a binding agreement between you and SCHOLAREA.

SCHOLAREA is currently an early-stage, student-built platform operated independently. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially partnered with any specific university unless explicitly stated.

SCHOLAREA is open to anyone, including:

• Current university, polytechnic, and college students
• Prospective students preparing for entrance exams
• Lecturers, tutors, and educators sharing study resources
• Anyone pursuing self-directed academic learning

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Platform.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information when registering
• Keeping your password secure and confidential
• All activity that happens under your account
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access

One person may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse referral rewards, credits, or download limits is a violation of these terms.

Uploading, sharing, or posting content on SCHOLAREA (resources, forum posts, group messages, research papers) is governed by our Content Policy, which forms part of these terms.

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not own or have permission to share
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other students or staff
• Post spam, scams, or unrelated promotional content
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Platform
• Use automated bots to scrape or mass-download content
• Impersonate another person or institution

SCHOLAREA's AI Tutor, flashcard generator, quiz generator, exam predictor, and translator are powered by third-party AI providers (including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude). Your queries may be processed by these providers in accordance with their own terms.

Free accounts have daily limits on AI queries, translations, and exam predictions. Premium accounts receive higher or unlimited limits as described on our Premium page.

SCHOLAREA Premium is a paid subscription offering expanded limits and features. Payments are processed via Paystack and/or Stripe and are subject to their respective terms.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can cancel anytime from your account settings — access continues until the end of the paid period
• Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for genuine billing errors
• Prices may change with prior notice; existing subscribers will be notified before any increase takes effect

Credits and points are virtual, non-transferable rewards earned through activities like uploading approved resources, referring friends, completing quizzes, and daily study streaks. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred between accounts.

SCHOLAREA reserves the right to adjust, reverse, or revoke credits awarded through fraudulent activity, policy violations, or system errors.

The SCHOLAREA name, logo, design, and platform code are the property of SCHOLAREA. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative platforms using our branding or codebase without written permission.

Content you upload remains yours, but by uploading it you grant SCHOLAREA a licence to host and display it on the Platform, as described in our Content Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our Content Policy, or applicable law — particularly for copyright infringement, harassment, fraud, or attempts to compromise platform security.

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Some data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCHOLAREA and its founder shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including exam performance, lost data, or service interruptions.

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Platform grows. Material changes will be announced on the Platform or via email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
