SCHOLAREA ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our platform, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We are an early-stage, student-built platform — we collect the minimum data needed to make the platform work well for you.

When you use the AI Tutor, flashcard generator, quiz generator, exam predictor, or translator, the text you submit is sent to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini and/or Anthropic Claude) for processing.
We do not use your personal conversations with the AI Tutor to train our own models, and we do not share your identity with the AI providers beyond what's needed to process the request.

We never sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes (e.g. records of content takedown requests).
Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (e.g. "X quizzes completed this month") may be retained indefinitely since they cannot be linked back to you personally.

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in (session cookies) and to remember your preferences (e.g. "Stay signed in"). We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
SCHOLAREA is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
